David O'Riordan

David O'Riordan is a third-generation photographer. He was born and raised in Cork City, Ireland, and picked up a camera professionally in 2008 — only later discovering that his great-grandfather, John Frost, had been a serious photographer before him, a man who photographed the Titanic leaving Ireland in 1912 and left behind boxes of glass negatives, film and scrapbooks that the family eventually placed in David's hands.
In 2014 he made his own crossing from Ireland to the United States, carrying that inheritance with him. His work moves between Ireland, the American West (the ongoing series A Portrait of the West), and documentary work from travels and missions: India, Africa, Turkey and the Bahamas.
He is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the author of a published book of photography. Prints of selected photographs are available by enquiry.
